Eureka Poets Laureate 2021

The Eureka Poet Laureate program is designed to enmesh poetic presence with civic discourse while contributing to the cultural wellbeing of Eureka. A poet laureate and youth poet laureate are appointed to represent the city for concurrent two-year terms. Poets laureate complete a project in the community as poetry ambassadors and present their work to the public at a civic event during their tenure. This program, a partnership between Eureka’s economic development department, the arts and culture commission, and The Ink People Center for the Arts, was started in 2019 by Kristi Patterson and Leslie Castellano.
