Black To Our Roots
Black to our Roots assists afro-descendant students with both genetic and genealogical methods of research to further their knowledge of the people, places, and cultures that have informed their present ethno-cultural identity. Through the collective reconstruction, preservation, and reconnection of Afro- diasporic histories to Afro-descendant students, participants will gain a comprehensive historical understanding of their cultural heritage; a trait that has been proven to improve academic performance as well as mental health in students.
